Getting There
Nearest Airport: Kushok Bakula Rimpochhe Airport, Leh (IXL)
Flight Hubs: Delhi (1.5h), Srinagar (45min), Mumbai (2.5h with stopover)
Local Transport: Shared taxis between villages (₹200-600/$2.50-7 per seat). Hire a private SUV with driver for permit areas (₹3,000-6,000/$36-72/day). Rent a Royal Enfield motorcycle (₹1,200-2,000/$14-24/day) for experienced riders only.
Visa: Foreign nationals: Indian e-Tourist visa (apply at indianvisaonline.gov.in), roughly USD 25 for 30 days, USD 40 for 1 year, USD 80 for 5 years (lower in the Apr-Jun off-peak). An Inner Line Permit (obtained in Leh, ~INR 200-400 per area) is also needed for Nubra, Pangong and Tso Moriri.
