How to Get to Galapagos Islands

Getting There
Nearest Airport: Seymour Airport, Baltra (GPS) or San Cristobal (SCY)
Flight Hubs: Quito (GYE) and Guayaquil (GYE) are the two mainland departure points. Flights from both take about 3 hours.
Local Transport: Inter-island ferries (speedboats): $30-35 per leg. Charter flights between islands: $150-250. Taxis on Santa Cruz: $2-5. Cruise ships handle all transport between sites.
Visa: Ecuador: most passports visa-free for 90 days. For Galapagos you also need the INGALA Transit Control Card (USD 20 at the mainland airport) plus the Galapagos National Park entry fee of USD 200 per person (doubled from USD 100 in Aug 2024), paid on arrival.
