Getting There
Nearest Airport: Mataveri International (IPC), the only airport on the island
Flight Hubs: Santiago (5.5h, LATAM operates daily). Occasional seasonal flights from Tahiti.
Local Transport: Rent a 4WD or ATV from Hanga Roa (around 60,000-90,000 CLP per day, roughly $60-90 USD). Roads to main sites are paved but secondary tracks require clearance. Taxis available but expensive.
Visa: Chile: US, EU, Canadian, Australian and ~90 nationalities visa-free for up to 90 days. Travel to Easter Island additionally requires the online Formulario Unico de Ingreso (FUI), a confirmed hotel/SERNATUR booking or Rapa Nui host, and a return ticket.
