Nearest Airport: Budapest Ferenc Liszt International (BUD)
Flight Hubs: Direct from London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Vienna, most European cities. Wizz Air and Ryanair dominate from secondary European airports.
Local Transport: Metro, tram, and bus network is excellent, 24h pass 2,500 HUF ($6.80), 72h pass 5,500 HUF ($15). Tram 2 along the Danube is the best route in the city. Taxis: use Bolt app only.
Visa: Schengen Zone: EU passports no visa; most Western passports (US, Canada, Australia, UK) visa-free for 90 days in any 180. EU Entry/Exit System (EES) biometric checks now in effect; ETIAS expected from late 2026.
