Our honest take
Barcelona has it all — beach, architecture, food, nightlife — but La Rambla is a tourist trap and pickpockets are aggressive. Stay in Gràcia or El Born, eat where menus aren't in English, and book Sagrada Família tickets 2 weeks ahead or you won't get in.
Why go
- Sagrada Família interior is genuinely transcendent — unlike any church you've seen
- Beach + city + mountains in one place is rare
- Tapas culture means eating out is affordable and social

Good to know
- Pickpockets are extremely active — front pockets, no phone in back pocket

- Don't leave anything on beach while swimming
