By 9pm the tapas bars are four people deep and nobody's eating dinner yet. Seville operates on a schedule that makes no sense until suddenly it does — churches that take an hour to walk around, an orange-tree-lined river you can cycle along at midnight, and a cathedral so absurdly large that Columbus is buried inside it almost as an afterthought. The heat in August is a physical object.
