Our honest take
Mount Cook village is tiny (population: 200) and that's the beauty — no crowds, no commercialization, just mountains and silence. The Hooker Valley Track is the best easy hike in NZ. Stay for stargazing — it's an International Dark Sky Reserve and the Milky Way is absurd.
